KiSS Mugello is the environmental and social sustainability programme of the Italian Grand Prix that engages everyone: teams, riders, spectators, fans, enterprises, insiders, the community and non-profit organizations.
The programme, now in its fifth consecutive edition, wants to raise awareness on the importance of environmental and social sustainability during major sporting events, as well as in everyday life. In recent years, the programme allowed to reduce the event's environmental impact and to develop more positive cultural and social repercussions.
KiSS Mugello is the first initiative in the motorcycling world with the aim to raise awareness on sustainability using a great sporting event as a vehicle to achieve the goal.
It began his journey on the occasion of the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix of the 2013 thanks to Yamaha Motor Racing, Mugello Circuit and FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), in agreement with DORNA (international promoter of MotoGP) and IRTA (International Road Racing Teams Association).
KiSS Mugello inspired other important events such as the US Grand Prix with KiSS COTA (Circuit of the Americas), the Aragon Grand Prix with KiSS MotorLand, the Catalunya Grand Prix with KiSS Barcelona and finally the new KiSS Misano during the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini 2016. Moreover, other motorsport disciplines have been involved such as speedway with KiSS Tampere, trial with KiSS Andorra, and enduro with KiSS Navarra during the International Six Days of Enduro. The KiSS programmes are part of FIM Ride Green Programme.
Separate waste collection, recycling and recovery of materials allow to give a second life to our waste and to reduce our impact on the environment. Moreover, they bring enormous benefits to the whole community even in terms of economic savings.
This year in collaboration with the National Consortia CiAl, Comieco, Corepla, CoReVe e Ricrea – that, respectively, organize and guarantee the recycling and recovery of the packaging in Aluminum, Paper, Plastic, Glass and Steel - we again linked the good practice of separate waste collection to a fundraising initiative in favor of the Fondazione Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer of Florence.
Due to a good separate waste collection during the Grand Prix, the National Consortia CiAl, Comieco, Corepla, CoReVe e Ricrea will contribute with a significant donation in support of the project "Support for healthcare activities" for clinical development of the Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer of Florence.
Thanks to the separate waste collection, you will help the Foundation and the Planet, too.
A little effort that makes a big difference.
Do not throw your waste out in the environment. Within the circuit you will find recycling bins.
